Non-fiction must
contain facts because it is based on real events. Non-fiction includes
narrative and expository approaches and under this genre falls autobiographies,
biographies, and memoirs. A variety of texts fall under the realm of
nonfiction. Nonfiction are books that teach, inform, and explain. Non-fiction
depicts reality in how people overcome challenges and become successful and are
an inspiration to others. Therefore, non-fiction can be used for motivational
purposes for young adults and young adults should be encouraged to read the
variety from this genre.
